CCTV CAMERA

Description: Closed-circuit television (CCTV) is the use of Video Cameras to transmit a signal to a specific place, on a limited set of monitors.

Applications:
Cameras are ideal for facilities like Banks, kitchen facilities, public processing centers, restrooms, hospitals, Schools/Universities, Home Secuirty, and other facilities. Cameras can be used in Intrusion Detection, Access Control and Annunciation systems, and in Panic System applications.

Alarm verification, deterrent, and surveillance applications are the most popular reasons for installing CCTV Cameras in a security application. CCTV offers direct ways to save a facility money. In terms of deterring internal loss, and reducing guard costs by allowing a centralized guard to tour using CCTV while another roams the grounds to show a presence.

Solving Surveillance issues:

Strategically, you can place cameras over the cash drawer, inside building entries, outside building exits, in elevator lobbies, on loading docks, or any location where traffic must pass. You can also place cameras in the work place to verify daily activity, or in parking lots to verify vehicle entry, exit, or for lot surveillance purposes. In access control applications, you can use cameras to keep a video log of those who enter or attempt to enter, or pass through doors. For Intrusion Detection applications you can use cameras for triggering, in the event, of an alarm on a particular zone. In Panic System applications, you can use cameras to view areas where alarms have been initiated, such as labs, shops, classrooms, or other public areas.

A typical CCTV System includes cameras, a switcher, and a recording device.

In industrial plants, CCTV equipment may be used to observe parts of a process from a central control room, for example when the environment is not suitable for humans. CCTV systems may operate continuously or only as required to monitor a particular event. A more advanced form of CCTV, utilizing Digital Video recorders (DVRs), provides recording for possibly many years, with a variety of quality and performance options and extra features (such as motion-detection and email alerts).
